We're back with a special collection featuring Chief Keef and his streetwear brand, Bad Weather. We've seen him at the helm of a collaboration before, but this one hits different in the best way possible.
Close your eyes and picture our iconic Buddha. Now, imagine this Buddha nestled in an overgrown field of delicate flowers and lush greens. Can you see it? That’s the Earth Buddha. This vision was the first seed planted in the Bad Weather x Chief Keef for True Religion collection, capturing Keef’s playful motifs and True Religion’s legendary heritage.
“Imagine something thats been abandoned going back its roots, and then growing into something that gives it new meaning.”
Leading this innovative collection are hip-hop artist Chief Keef and Los Angeles-based designer Diego Luciano. Their deep appreciation for beauty and vibrant colors breathes life into this project, symbolizing a return to our roots where abandoned items are reclaimed by nature, gaining new meaning and purpose.
Drawing inspiration from the essence of old True Religion—blending influences from Harajuku and the timeless styles in our Heritage archives—the team embarked on a journey to reimagine classic True Religion pieces in a natural environment. Envision lush plants and vibrant greens overgrowing our archival pieces, transforming them into something more beautiful and colorful.
Innovation was at the forefront of this collection. This collaboration allowed both Bad Weather and True Religion to experiment with a variety of design elements, including co-branded hardware, heavyweight fabrics, vintage dyes, and unique textures. These elements pay homage to the brand's rich history while signaling future growth.
“The double pockets, so simple to think of, but they hadn’t been done before. We wanted to explore new design elements because the stacking of jeans.”
A standout feature of this collection is the double pockets—a simple yet innovative design inspired by Chief Keef’s early days of stacking his True Religion jeans. This, along with other new design elements, emerged from our creative process, drawing inspiration from all corners of the world.
This collection is a testament to the power of merging past influences with contemporary creativity to create something truly unique.
What takes this campaign to another level is Chief Keef's influence from start to finish—art directing his first shoot with us, bringing a fresh, creative vision to the table.
Keef's hands-on approach and innovative ideas have infused the collection with a distinct, authentic vibe, making this collaboration truly one-of-a-kind.
